The soap of Alep is manufactured according to an handcrafted process which remains identical since its creation. It is famous for its washing and scenting qualities like for its disinfecting virtues.

The authentic natural Alep soaps, since their origins, contain from 2 to 3% of bay leaves oil for the regular ones and from 11 to 12% for the “superior” soaps.
Although the Alep soapmarket even proposes Alep soaps with 20%,30%,40%,50% even more bay oil of bay-tree, it is important to note that beyond 10 to 12% of bay leave oil, the saponification process becomes almost impossible and the use of oil of synthesis will then become necessary…
It doesn’t exist any label, neither in France, neither in Syria, nor in Alep certifying the authenticity of the raw materials and deteriorations are numerous.
From this observation, unfortunately, everything is possible!
